At 11.30am on Friday 18 September 2015, two men posing as workmen, knocked on the door of a home on Hulton Lane and asked the 69-year-old owner whether she would like her guttering to be repaired.
Once the work was finished, she allowed one of the men inside for payment, taking money from her handbag and handing it over.
The man asked her to go to the front to see if she was happy with the work and as she did so, he took the rest of the money from her bag before leaving.
One man is described as being white, in his 20s, 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, had brown hair and wore a hi-vis jacket and light brown work boots.
The second is described as being in his 50s, 5ft 11in tall, had short grey hair, stubble and also wore a hi-vis jacket and light brown work boots.
Police Constable Andy Sharkey said: “An image of a man was taken from nearby CCTV and we are keen to trace him so we can speak to him about the incident. I would ask anyone who may recognise him to contact police. Indeed, if you are the person in the image, please call us so we can eliminate you from our enquiries.”
