A BUMPER weekend of live music has got even better with the addition of another band.
Mod legends Secret Affair, who perform mod revival, power pop and soul genres of music have been added to the card that will see artists play live music in the Premier Suite at the Macron Stadium as part of the initiative, Bolton Live.
The show, which takes place on Saturday, August 20th, will be headlined by From the Jam.
Damian Chadwick, venue controller at the Macron Stadium, said: “The show really is starting to build itself now, we announced From the Jam a few weeks back and I’m delighted we’ve secured the support of Secret Affair.
“Secret Affair is our latest announcement and it certainly won’t be the last.
“We’re constantly in talks with a whole host of performers and we’ll be making further additions to the line-up in the near future.”
As well as Secret Affair and From the Jam performing on the Saturday, chart-topping Scouting for Girls will be headlining in the Premier Suite the following day.
Secret Affair were formed in 1978 from their previous incarnation as the “power pop” band New Hearts.
In a period of a little over two years, they posted five releases in the UK Singles Chart, releasing three albums. Their debut single “Time for Action” sold more than 200,000 copies and reached number 13 in the UK chart.
The band are continuing to go from strength to strength and they will now tour the country as part of their Business as Usual tour.
The event is being brought to the Macron Stadium by Solid Entertainments, and promoter Stephen Stanley, added: “It’s an absolute pleasure to be staging one day Original Live Music festivals within the exceptional facilities at the Macron Stadium.
“Music fans both local and from all over the UK will experience a diverse wealth of talent offered at exceptional value for money ticket prices.”
Early bird tickets for the music show costs £21 and they are on sale now.
