Crompton Place was a sea of red, white and blue on Friday as the centre got in the royal mood to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.

Centre Manager Paula Wood and Centre Administrator Clare Hatchman were on hand with free cakes for staff and shoppers during the day including a 14-inch cake decorated with a photograph of the Queen, provided by Greenhalgh’s bakery, and a host of other delectable delights.

Centre Manager, Paula Wood, said she was delighted with the day of royal celebrations. “It’s been a great day here at the centre,” said Paula. “We had red, white and blue everywhere you looked and shoppers and staff really got in the royal mood. The treats proved extremely popular and I’m thrilled that we were able to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.”
Alongside the cakes and treats, nearly a quarter of a mile of bunting was spread throughout Crompton Place and a raffle with red, white and blue prizes, worth over £80, took place.  All money raised is set to be donated to the centre’s charity of the year, Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme.
