TWO more artists have been added to a jam-packed weekend of live music.
Solo singer Ellie Dibben and Bolton-based rock band Alex James and the Sound will perform alongside chart-topping Scouting for Girls, Reverend and the Makers, The Brew and France at Bolton Live.
The two acts will take to the stage on Sunday, August 21 st , as part of a new initiative that will see artists play live music in the 5,000 capacity Premier Suite at the Macron Stadium.
Damian Chadwick, venue controller at Macron Stadium, said: “The second day of Bolton Live just got even better with the addition of two impressive acts.
“When we first announced the weekend of music, we promised to get local artists involved, and that’s what we’ve done with Alex James and the Sound. Ellie Dibben is a bit of a coup, she’s very popular and has performed at some big international festivals.
“The announcements don’t stop there as we’ll be looking to add further acts across the weekend in the near future.”
Alex James and the Sound are one of the most exciting new alternative rock bands to emerge from the UK in 2016. The band comprises of Alex Brierley (lead vocals/guitar & keyboard), Cameron Maunder (guitar and backing vocals), Kurtis Maunder (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Sam Dickman (drums).
Already, they are working on their first album with a number of taster tracks already having been aired on BBC radio, Heart FM, Capital FM, ITV and a host of other independent radio music shows.
Ellie, who performs Country music, was just 11 when she was first heard on BBC radio. Already in her impressive career, she has supported Pixi Lott, performed on the main stage of Americana
