Visitors to Salford Quays are being warned to stay vigilant this Halloween after a serious case of ‘The Damp’ was seen taking ex-TV star June in to the icy water.
June who played B.U.H.B.S (Bionic Uber Human Battle System) in 80’s TV show The Crystal Continuum said;
“I used my best karate moves but nothing could unleash me from its cold, soggy grip. I used to battle monsters like these in my TV show as a young girl, but never thought they’d come to life”
Warrington born, Manchester based Natasha Hodgson who plays June inDon’t Wake The Damp said;
“The show previewed at The Lowry in August this year before heading up to Edinburgh Fringe Festival where we won The Stage Edinburgh Award. After lots of tweaking we’re really excited to bring the final version of the show back to Salford.”
Don’t Wake The Damp is at The Lowry this Halloween (Wed 26 – Sat 29 Oct) and is an 80s inspired monster comedy adventure; a tale of a crumbling tower block set for destruction, and the residents that discover a terrible monster lurking within it. Think The Power Rangers meets The League of Gentlemen, with John Carpenter’s The Thing thrown in for good measure.
Combining dual passions for dark comedy and physical theatre, Kill the Beastbring a truly unique blend of beautiful visuals, amazing costumes, original music, animated projection and wickedly black humour.
Kill the Beast are Associate Artists of The Lowry and many will remember them for their hilariously dark shows ‘He Had Hairy Hands,’ and ‘The Boy Who Kicked Pigs.’
Previously chosen as a Top Act by the BBC, and with a raft of 4 and 5 star reviews under their neon utility belts, Kill the Beast will be bringing this show to The Lowry on Wed 26 Oct – Sat 29 Oct.
